Tony McDade was a black transgender man who was murdered by Tallahassee Police on May 24, 2020. He was accused of possessing weapons, but eyewitnesses and available evidence place no weapons at the scene. The police did not identify themselves, and allegedly shouted slurs at him before shooting and killing him. He died at 38 years old. Despite this occurring, there is little media coverage about the case, and there are next to no details released by the police.
